At Kyushu University, the Student Committee for the Internationalization of Kyushu University (SCIKyu) was established to incorporate students’ perspectives into promoting the internationalization of the campus. This event was first realized last year with the full cooperation of the Kyushu University Co-op, following a suggestion from international student members of SCIKyu who expressed the desire to enjoy familiar home-country dishes on campus.

Due to the positive feedback, the event’s scope has been expanded to include “Japanese students with study abroad experience and international students,” resulting in the second edition. The dishes offered this time were selected by SCIKyu members and the Kyushu University Co-op from over 40 entries submitted during an open call on campus.
