From a technological standpoint, research at Kyushu University is primarily conducted from an engineering perspective to create a sustainable society. In December 2020, the Optical and Quantum Process Research and Development Center was newly established to promote research and social implementation of smart manufacturing systems that contribute to the realization of Society 5.0, and analysis of high-power light, quantum irradiation systems, physical measurement systems, AI, etc. Equipment is being strengthened and supported. Furthermore, in March 2021, Kyushu University held the “International Symposium on Construction Resources for Environmentally Sustainable Technologies (CREST)” to share and expand technical knowledge that promotes the realization of a sustainable society.
