Kyushu University ranked 26th for SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure in Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026

Kyushu University Ranks 26th Globally in “SDG 9: Innovation”
Released on June 24, the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 ranked Kyushu University 26th worldwide for SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.

THE Sustainability Impact Ratings assess each university’s level of social contribution based on its efforts toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and include a comprehensive overall ranking and individual rankings for each SDG.

The SDG 9 category evaluates universities’ performance in advancing innovation and infrastructure, particularly through collaboration with industry. It is measured using indicators such as research output and patents.

In the overall ranking, the University is placed in the 101–200 band among 1,603 institutions worldwide.

Kyushu University will continue to strengthen its education, research, and collaboration on the SDGs through its “integrative knowledge” initiative to advance a sustainable society.
