6. Clean Water and Sanitation

Kyushu University recycles and reuses domestic and experimental wastewater and tests the quality of the treated water. Kyushu University conserves scarce water supplies and cuts costs on water usage by recycling them. Faculty are also working on water conservation research using engineering and agricultural approaches, such as research on technology for efficient water resource utilization and regeneration, groundwater recharge functions in the Kumamoto area, and land management for water resource conservation.
