International Workshop for Teaching Debate with/beyond COVID-19

レトリック研究の世界的権威であり、長年ディベートコーチを務めてきたイリノイ州立大学Joseph Zompetti博士を講師に迎え、with/beyondコロナ時代における、米国最新のディベート教育の動向についてオンラインで講演・議論を行います。トランプ氏をはじめとする政治家のレトリックを例に、学校などの競技ディベート訓練と政治的なディベート/レトリックとの関係についてもお話を伺います。教室やディベート大会において社会的問題を議論するディベートでは、議題とSDGsとの関連性も強く意識するようになっています。本ウェビナーの主な使用言語は英語です。
（本ウェビナーは共創学部レクチャーシリーズのスタンプ対象の講義です。また、同日午後からは本ウェビナーに続いて「ディベート教育国際研究会」が主催する「第7回ディベート教育国際研究会大会（有料）」が開催されます。）

Dr. Zompetti teaches courses in civic engagement, rhetoric, and argumentation around the world. In this webinar, he will talk about debate education in the US, which will be compared with the situations in other countries where he has taught. He will also discuss the relationship between competitive debating and political debate/rhetoric drawing on some examples from rhetoric of politicians including Donald Trump.
