Future Creation (MIRAI) Course for doctoral students
The Future Creation (MIRAI) Course for doctoral students aims to select motivated and outstanding candidates from across disciplines, providing them with an environment that enables focused and innovative research as well as support in shaping diverse and financially sustainable career paths. In addition to cultivating high research capabilities, the program offers a range of courses to develop students' ability for a holistic view, interdisciplinary approach, international exposure, and a broad set of advanced transferable skills. It also offers comprehensive support for expanding their career opportunities.
In this program, we have established the MIRAI-SDGs platform as an SDGs matrix-type open platform. Students in this program position their research themes within the context of environmental and societal issues related to SDGs. They choose the most relevant SDGs-related challenges and actively engage with the MIRAI-SDGs platform.
Within the MIRAI-SDGs platform, students in the program share drafts of their research topics and collaborative fusion research ideas they are currently considering with students, faculty, and corporate members (corporate consortium members). Through open and candid exchange of opinions among students, faculty, and corporate members (corporate consortium members) within this platform, we aim to create an 'emergent space' that fosters challenging and integrative research. Additionally, we are expanding various career path development support initiatives based on this platform.
