Newly harvested rice from the farm at Ito Campus has been milled into Kinmemai using a unique method at the Fukuoka factory of Nihon Brice Co., Ltd. It will be served as a rice dish at Agri.Dining and Big Dora cafeteria on Ito Campus this coming December.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKinmemai\u201d is a type of pre-washed rice known for its unique polishing process. This process helps leaving the nutrient-rich sub-aleurone layer on the surface, which retains essential vitamins, minerals, and umami components that are typically lost in the normal rice-polishing methods.
