{"id":16218,"date":"2024-04-23T11:05:39","date_gmt":"2024-04-23T02:05:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdgs.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/?p=16218"},"modified":"2024-05-08T11:23:17","modified_gmt":"2024-05-08T02:23:17","slug":"kyushu-okinawa-and-taiwan-universities-establish-international-collaboration-agreement-that-transcends-geographical-boundaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sdgs.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/en\/16218","title":{"rendered":"Kyushu-Okinawa and Taiwan Universities establish international collaboration agreement that transcends geographical boundaries!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two university alliances, Kyushu-Okinawa Open University and The University Academic Alliance in Taiwan, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for international collaboration<\/p>\n<p>On April 22, 2024, the Kyushu Okinawa Open University (KOOU), an organization of 11 national university corporations in the Kyushu-Okinawa region, and The University Academic Alliance in Taiwan (UAAT), an academic platform for universities in Taiwan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on international collaboration and cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day, a forum titled &#8220;KOOU-UAAT Forum on Higher Education&#8221; was held, which incorporated the MOU signing ceremony. At the forum, each platform introduced its activities and delivered keynote speeches for future exchanges. The forum also included a networking reception.<\/p>\n<p>KOOU was established in March 2023 to promote collaboration among 11 national university corporations with a focus on boosting research capabilities. We believe that these activities will expand the scope and diversity of education and research on both sides, broaden approaches to solving social issues, and open new perspectives for students and researchers. Together, we strive to establish a new model of international collaboration that transcends geographical boundaries. With leveraging our collective intellect, resources and strengths, we shall work together to tackle challenges and issues having global impacts and critical to sustainable development of societies. We truly believe the collaboration will further enrich the teaching and learning, research and innovation, and mutual exchange of faculty and students on both sides, contributing to a more resilient and prosperous future.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\">About Each Platform<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Kyushu Okinawa Open University (KOOU)<\/span><br \/>\nEstablished in 2023, KOOU promotes collaborative cooperation among all 11 national university corporations in the Kyushu-Okinawa region, aiming to mutually improve research capabilities.
