Since their environments and experiences are each very different, this results in a wide range of personal attitudes. Subjects who have idiosyncratic experiences may have special schemes, unconsciously. PAC Analysis makes use of free association. A researcher asks informants to estimate the similarity between association items, and make use of cluster analysis. The researcher directs subjects to describe and compare clusters, and furthers discussion consulting with antecedent studies and findings.

Event Flyer（Open in new tab）

Target Current students and staff
Language　The lecture will be held in English, but questions afterwards can be in Japanese or English.
Dates 2023.11.30 [Thu] 16:40 – 18:10
Venue Ito Campus　East Zone, E-110
Seating capacity No
Participation fee Free of charge

Event details

PAC Analysis, and how to use it to find subjects’ implicit attitudes and mental schemes
Tetsuo Naito, Ph.D
Shinshu University (Emeritus Professor of Social Psychology)
Fukushima Gakuin University　(Emeritus Professor of Clinical Psychology)

Inquiries

Name: Andrew Hall
TEL: 092-802-5602
Mail: andrewhall★scs.kyushu-u.ac.jp
Please replace ★ with @

Website　https://www.kyushu-u.ac.jp/en/events/view/430

PAC Analysis, and how to use it to find subjects’ implicit attitudes and mental schemes Professor Tetsuo Naito leads a seminar teaching the powerful research tool Personal Attitude Construct, which combines qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
